You’ll gain insight into how high-end productions operate, working with industry-standard equipment including the ARRI Alexa Mini, Skypanels, HMI lighting, and professional grip systems such as dollies and tracks—alongside a full crew environment with a gaffer and key grip.


The workshop covers essential concepts, from lighting theory to on-set decision-making, with a strong emphasis on execution. You’ll follow step-by-step setups for indoor day and night lighting, as well as beauty lighting techniques used to shape and enhance faces for artists on camera.

COURSE SYLLABOUS



Chapter 1 — Indoor Day Lighting Setup



In this one-hour chapter, Pierre Azar breaks down an indoor day scene from concept to execution. He explains how the lighting setup is approached, which lights are chosen and why, and how each decision shapes the final image. The chapter also demonstrates the use of a camera on a dolly track, showing how movement can add depth, rhythm, and cinematic flow to the scene.



Chapter 2 — Beauty Lighting & Face Wrap



In this 20-minute chapter, Pierre Azar demonstrates how to light faces for beauty with minimal shadows, using different lighting setups to create a soft and flattering look. He explains how to achieve proper wrap on the face and how light placement, softness, and direction affect the final result.



Chapter 3 — Interior Night Lighting Setup



In this 38-minute chapter, Pierre Azar breaks down an interior night scene, showing how to create moonlight and combine practical lights with film lights to build mood, depth, and atmosphere. The chapter explains how different light sources work together to shape the scene and create a cinematic night interior.



Chapter 4 — Final Creative Exercise: Color Mixing



In this final chapter, Pierre Azar explores how to mix colors creatively and understand which colors work well together. The course ends with a colorful music video-style scene where students dance as the camera moves handheld, bringing energy, rhythm, and visual expression to the final setup.
